Computers are a first-come, first-serve basis. If another person is waiting to use a computer, they will be required to wait until the 1-hour time limit has passed for computer use. Patrons will be required to use their library card number and pin to log into the computers. Guest passes will be available for those who do not have a library card. A form of ID will be required in order to receive a guest pass for the computers.
Users shall not: damage computer equipment and software; use the computers to access the internet for illegal purposes such as: unauthorized entry into other resources, hacking and torrenting, or violating copyrights; accessing or viewing information using the Library’s resources that are pornographic, obscene, or harmful to minors; invade the privacy of others; install any software or alter programs on the computers; engage in any activity that disrupts the operations of the network.
Violations of this policy may result in loss of access and/or St. Ignace Public Library privileges. Any unlawful activity will be dealt with in an appropriate manner.
St. Ignace Public Library does not assume responsibility for any damage from use of the Library’s computers, network, or available Wi-Fi connection.
In compliance with Federal law, all library computers accessible by minors are filtered. These filters prohibit receipt of pornographic and obscene material.
The following software and/or equipment is available on all computer terminals:
Patrons may use personal electronic media on public computer terminals. All personal files and software saved on public hard drives are deleted daily.
The Library is not responsible for any loss of data or damage to patron’s persona; electronic media during use of library equipment and software.
A public printer is available. The printing charge is $0.20 cents per page for black and white and $0.50 cents per page for color. Please pay at the circulation desk located by the printer. We accept credit/debit cards and all legal tender.
To download information, please bring your own USB flash drive. A USB flash drive is available for brief usage at the circulation desk.
The St. Ignace Public Library provides public access to the Internet through our computer terminals and our wireless network. Internet access is filtered on library computers, but access on the wireless network is not filtered. Parents and legal guardians are responsible for their child’s viewing, reading, and listening of materials on the Internet.
