SUMMARY:Adult Book Club
DESCRIPTION:Book Club is back! Join us on Thursday\, October 21\, at 5:15 PM in discussing the popular novel “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig. \n“Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books\, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is\, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been\, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better?”

SUMMARY:Author Event- Angeline Boulley
DESCRIPTION:Join Michilimackinac Historical Society and the St. Ignace Public Library in welcoming Angeline Boulley\, NYT Bestseller\, author of Firekeeper’s Daughter. \nFirekeeper’s Daughter is a groundbreaking YA thriller about a Native teen who must root out the corruption in her community.\n  \nAuthor Bio \nAngeline Boulley\, an enrolled member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians\, is a storyteller who writes about her Ojibwe community in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. She is a former Director of the Office of Indian Education at the U.S. Department of Education. Angeline lives in southwest Michigan\, but her home will always be on Sugar Island. Firekeeper’s Daughter is her debut novel. \nIn this riveting novel\, a biracial\, unenrolled tribal member and the product of a scandal\, Daunis Fontaine\, has never quite fit in—both in her hometown and on the nearby Ojibwe reservation. When her family is struck by tragedy\, Daunis puts her dreams on hold to care for her fragile mother. The only bright spot is meeting Jamie\, the charming new recruit on her brother’s hockey team. \nAfter Daunis witnesses a shocking murder that thrusts her into a criminal investigation\, she agrees to go undercover. But the deceptions—and deaths—keep piling up and soon the threat strikes too close to home. How far will she go to protect her community if it means tearing apart the only world she’s ever known?
